Vitality spoke to Drs. Rosenfeld and Chu on the joy of discovering that their patient was one of the first babies conceived at our Center. Robert Borland returned to our Center with his wife, Beth, they left with two healthy and beautiful twins. Dr. Rosenfeld says of the experience: "Madeline Borland was one of the center's first patients, and her son Robert was therefore one of the first babies to be born under my care. Now 35 years later, I had the humbling opportunity to be involved in the growth of this sweet family, helping Robert and his wife conceive their own children. This makes me a 'grandfather,' and it's a phenomenal feeling." Vitality Article

Dr. Mary Rausch presented a revolutionary study from her team at the University of Pennsylvania on the development of a new test to diagnose ectopic pregnancy at this year's American Society of Reproductive Medicine's (ASRM) Annual Meeting. In preliminary studies, the blood test was 99% accurate at differentiating ectopic from normal pregnancies. While further research is needed, potentially a same-day test could be available within two to five years. Earlier diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy can save lives. To hear from Dr. Rausch on the value of this study read her post on The Reproducers or check out news coverage of the studies below.

NYS DOH Grant Monies Award: Based on our pregnancy success rates as well as other quality criteria, New York State Department of Health has again selected the Center for Human Reproduction to participate in its Infertility Demonstration Program. This grant award provides financial support for patients who have either exhausted their benefits or do not have insurance coverage for IVF. Patients who meet the State's criteria for the Infertility Demonstration Program may qualify for financial grant monies based on a sliding income scale (cut-off point is $195,000 income). Contact our Financial Counselor at 516-562-1748 for more information or call our main Reception desk at 516-562-BABY (2229) to make an appointment.
On Long Island and Queens, the "Attain" IVF Program is offered exclusively at The Center for Human Reproduction. The "Attain" IVF Program is designed to limit the amount of money at stake for a comprehensive treatment plan, providing for a multi-cycle course of treatment which helps maximize your chance to have a baby through IVF. Qualified patients may attempt up to 6 cycles (3 IVF and 3 frozen embryo transfers) for a fixed, discounted fee. When the patient takes a baby home from the hospital, IntegraMed will have earned the fee and retains the full fixed fee. If treatment is unsuccessful, the patient gets a guaranteed refund. Unlike other programs, the IntegraMed "Attain" IVF Program defines success as taking a baby home, not getting pregnant. More information about the "Attain" IVF Program can be obtained by either contacting our Financial Counselor at 516-562-BABY (2229) or by contacting an IntegraMed Representative directly at 866-Your-IVF or by visiting www.yourivf.com.
